JJ Vault Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how JJ Vault: Password Manager handles information on Android and iOS.

Effective and last updated: August 12, 2026

1. Scope and developer

This Privacy Policy applies to JJ Vault: Password Manager ("JJ Vault"), including its Free and Pro features. JJ Vault is developed and published by JJ Studio Entertainment ("we", "us", or "our").

JJ Vault is a local-first password manager. It does not require a JJ Vault account and we do not operate a cloud service that receives or stores your vault contents.

2. Data stored locally on your device

Information you enter into JJ Vault is used to provide the app's core functionality and remains on your device. This may include:

  • service names, usernames or email addresses, and passwords;
  • favorite status and sorting information for saved credentials;
  • vault configuration and encrypted key material;
  • theme and other app preferences; and
  • a locally cached indication of JJ Vault Pro entitlement.

Vault content is encrypted before it is stored. Your master password and backup passwords are not sent to JJ Studio Entertainment. We do not know them and cannot recover them or decrypt your vault or backup files for you.

JJ Vault does not use advertising SDKs, analytics SDKs, or tracking technologies, and it does not sell personal information.

3. Device features and user-directed actions

Biometric authentication

If you enable biometric unlock, authentication is performed by the security services of your operating system. JJ Vault does not receive or store your fingerprint, facial image, or biometric template. The app receives the authentication result and, after successful authentication, can access protected key material required to unlock the local encrypted vault. You can disable biometric unlock in the app's settings.

System clipboard

When you choose to copy a username, email address, or password, JJ Vault places that value on the system clipboard. The app attempts to clear clipboard content it owns after a limited period or when appropriate, but operating systems, keyboards, or other apps may keep their own clipboard histories. Their behavior is outside our control.

Encrypted backups

JJ Vault can create a password-protected .svault backup. A backup leaves the app only when you explicitly choose a destination through the operating system's file picker or share interface. The selected storage provider, messaging app, email provider, or other destination may process the file under its own privacy terms. You are responsible for protecting the backup password and every exported copy.

4. JJ Vault Pro purchases

JJ Vault Pro is a one-time in-app purchase processed by the store from which you obtained the app. Apple App Store or Google Play may process your store account, payment, tax, device, and transaction information according to its own policies.

To start a purchase, restore a purchase, and determine whether Pro is active, the store may provide JJ Vault with information such as the product identifier, purchase status, transaction or receipt data, and entitlement status. JJ Vault stores only the information needed locally to provide and remember Pro access. We do not receive your complete payment-card number or store-account password.

Store privacy information is available from Apple and Google.

5. Data sharing and third parties

We do not receive, sell, rent, or share your vault contents. JJ Vault does not share data with advertising companies, analytics providers, or data brokers.

Information may leave the app only in these limited circumstances:

  • when you deliberately copy content to the system clipboard;
  • when you deliberately export or share an encrypted backup to a destination you select;
  • when Apple or Google processes purchase and restoration activity; or
  • when you voluntarily contact us for support.

Third parties involved in these user-directed or store-operated activities process information under their own privacy policies and security practices. We require no third party to receive your unencrypted vault from us because we never possess it.

6. Support communications and this website

If you contact us by email, we receive the email address, message, attachments, and any other information you choose to provide. We use it to respond, troubleshoot, prevent abuse, and maintain appropriate support records. Do not send your master password, backup password, or unencrypted credentials to support.

This policy page is hosted on our developer website. Website hosting, network, and security providers may automatically process standard request information such as IP address, browser type, timestamps, and security events to deliver and protect the page. This website data is separate from the contents of your JJ Vault app.

7. Data retention and deletion

  • Local vault and preferences: remain on your device until you delete the vault, clear app data where supported, or uninstall the app. The in-app vault deletion function removes the local vault and protected biometric key. Operating-system backups may follow your device provider's retention behavior.
  • Exported backups: remain wherever you saved or shared them until you delete each copy. Deleting the in-app vault does not delete exported .svault files.
  • Purchase records: are retained by Apple or Google under the applicable store, accounting, tax, fraud-prevention, and legal requirements. Removing your local vault does not cancel or erase store purchase records.
  • Support email: may be retained only as long as reasonably necessary to answer the request, maintain support history, protect our services, or meet legal obligations.

JJ Vault does not create a developer-hosted user account. Therefore, there is no JJ Vault online account to delete, and we cannot remotely access, delete, restore, or recover data held only on your device.

8. Security

JJ Vault is designed to reduce exposure by encrypting the vault, storing it locally, supporting operating-system biometric protection, and preventing screenshots on supported protected screens. However, no application, device, encryption system, or storage method can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for using a strong, unique master password, protecting your device, installing operating-system security updates, and storing encrypted backups and their passwords safely.

9. Your choices and privacy rights

You can control your information by:

  • editing or deleting individual credentials in JJ Vault;
  • disabling biometric unlock;
  • avoiding or clearing the system clipboard;
  • deleting the entire local vault from the app;
  • deleting exported backup files from every destination; and
  • contacting Apple or Google regarding store purchase data.

Depending on where you live, privacy law may provide rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing of personal information held by us. You may contact us to make a request concerning support communications or website information. We may need to verify the request. Because we do not receive your local vault, we cannot provide, modify, or delete its contents remotely.

10. Children's privacy

JJ Vault is not directed to children under 13 or the applicable minimum age in their jurisdiction. The app does not knowingly transmit vault contents to us. If you believe a child has sent personal information to us through support or this website, contact us so we can evaluate and delete it when appropriate.

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when JJ Vault's features, data practices, store requirements, or applicable laws change. We will post the updated policy at this URL and revise the date at the top. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or store listing when appropriate.
