Privacy Policy

BiteKazo is designed around a local-first model. This policy explains what stays on your device, when data may be processed by platform or advertising services, and what happens when you use BiteKazo Pass.

1. Introduction

BiteKazo is a social food-session counter developed by JJ Studio Entertainment. The app lets you create sessions, add participants, keep counts, save results, share result cards and transfer selected information between BiteKazo devices.

No BiteKazo account, login or email registration is required.

2. Information stored on your device

Information such as profiles, participant names, optional photos, sessions, drafts, completed-session history, settings and the cached Ad-Free entitlement state is primarily stored locally on your device.

Local information generally remains until you delete the relevant item, clear app data, uninstall the app or the device storage is otherwise removed.

3. Photos and camera access

Profile and participant photos are optional. BiteKazo may request camera or photo-library access only when you use a feature that requires it, such as adding a photo or scanning a BiteKazo Pass QR code.

When sharing a result card, participant photos are optional and are disabled by default. Profile photo transfer through BiteKazo Pass is optional, and completed-session transfers do not include participant photos.

BiteKazo does not require microphone, precise-location, Bluetooth or notification permission for its current core functionality.

4. BiteKazo Pass and transfers

BiteKazo Pass lets you transfer a profile or a completed session between BiteKazo devices. Transfers are user initiated and require participation by the sending and receiving devices.

Nearby transfers may use your local network. Pairing can use QR codes and a short verification/confirmation flow. BiteKazo Pass uses encrypted transfer mechanisms and device confirmation to help protect transferred data.

5. Internet Relay

When nearby transfer is not practical, BiteKazo Pass may use an ephemeral Internet Relay operated with Cloudflare infrastructure. The relay forwards encrypted transfer data and does not require access to the plaintext profile or session contents.

Operational network information, such as connection and routing metadata, may inherently be processed by infrastructure providers to operate the relay. Transfer rooms and payload forwarding are designed for temporary transfer rather than permanent user-content storage.

6. Advertising

BiteKazo is free to use and may display Google AdMob banner ads on selected non-critical screens, including Home, History, Results and Settings.

Banner ads are not shown on New Session, the Counter, BiteKazo Pass transfer flows, Saved People, photo/camera flows, share preview/export or About.

Google advertising services may process information such as device identifiers, approximate location, advertising data, app interaction data and diagnostic information depending on your device, region, consent choices and provider configuration.

7. Consent and privacy choices

BiteKazo uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) for advertising consent and privacy choices where required. Consent may be requested before advertising is shown when applicable.

A privacy choices entry may be available in the app when required by the Google consent flow.

8. Advertising identifiers and technical data

On Android, Google advertising dependencies may use the Advertising ID for purposes such as advertising or marketing, analytics, fraud prevention, security and compliance, subject to platform rules and consent choices.

On iOS, the current BiteKazo implementation does not request App Tracking Transparency permission and does not present Apple's ATT prompt. Third-party advertising SDKs may nevertheless declare their own SDK-level data practices in privacy manifests.

Depending on provider behavior and configuration, third-party SDK data may include approximate location, device identifiers, product interaction, advertising data, crash data, performance data and other diagnostics.

9. In-app purchases

BiteKazo offers an optional one-time non-consumable purchase, BiteKazo Remove Ads, which removes BiteKazo banner ads. It is not a subscription.

Android purchases are processed by Google Play Billing and iOS purchases by Apple's App Store / StoreKit. BiteKazo receives entitlement information needed to determine whether ads should be removed but does not receive your full credit or debit card information.

Restore Purchases is available to reconcile eligible ownership after reinstalling or changing devices.

10. Third-party services

BiteKazo currently relies on third-party services for specific functions: Google AdMob / Google Mobile Ads for advertising and related measurement or diagnostics; Google User Messaging Platform for consent and privacy choices; Google Play Billing for Android purchases; Apple App Store / StoreKit for iOS purchases; and Cloudflare infrastructure for the BiteKazo Pass Internet Relay.

Those providers process information according to their own policies and roles. JJ Studio Entertainment does not operate a BiteKazo cloud account service or public user directory.

11. Data retention

App-owned local data generally remains on your device until you remove the relevant content, clear app data, uninstall BiteKazo or device storage is otherwise removed.

Internet Relay transfer rooms and forwarding are ephemeral and intended for temporary transfer. Retention by advertising, app-store, payment or infrastructure providers is governed by their respective policies.

12. Children and audience

BiteKazo is a general social utility for food sessions and is not specifically designed for children. It does not provide public profiles, chat, comments, followers, a public feed or a public user directory.

Parents or guardians may use device and store controls where appropriate.

13. Security

BiteKazo uses a local-first model to reduce the amount of core session and profile information that needs to leave your device. BiteKazo Pass uses encrypted transfer mechanisms and device confirmation to help protect transferred data.

No device, software or network can guarantee absolute security. Keep your device secured and review any transfer confirmation before accepting or sending data.

14. International processing

Advertising, app-store, payment and infrastructure providers may operate in multiple countries and may process technical or service-related information under their own policies and applicable legal frameworks.

BiteKazo's core session and profile information is primarily local, but third-party services and Internet Relay connections may involve international network processing.

15. Your choices

You can choose whether to add participant or profile photos, whether to include participant photos in a shared result card, whether to initiate BiteKazo Pass transfers, and whether to purchase BiteKazo Ad-Free.

You can manage language, currency and appearance inside BiteKazo. Where applicable, advertising consent or privacy choices are provided through the Google consent flow and device/platform settings.

16. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when BiteKazo features, third-party services, platform requirements or applicable laws change. The Last Updated date will be revised when a new version is published.
